SYNOPSIS Born in Bangladesh, but living in Ireland for the last 14 years, at only 26 years old, with a background in Business Management, and recently a qualified pilot, Maksuda gained the title of Ms Ireland 2014, Miss Hot Chocolate 2014, Miss Universal Royalty 2013, Ms Ireland Earth 2015, Ms Photogenic 2014 and Supermodel of the Year 2014. Along many international publications, she was the first Asian - Irish model to be the cover of Ondine Magazine in May 2015. EARLY LIFE Maksuda was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1989. Her dad passed away when she was only 8. ‘I don’t remember much about my dad, because I was very young’ . ..Her mother also passed away when she was 19, when Maksuda was already living in Ireland, which made her life more difficult being away from her parents. Maksuda had a big interest in fashion from early age, following Mou , a super model from Bangladesh. Her first television appearance was at the age of 13 for a very known company in Bangladesh. In the next year she appeared in many advertisings, music videos, taking part in many fashion shows both in Bangladesh and Ireland, and also being involved with some of the top fashion photographers. ON THE RUNWAY Her first runway was at the age of 14 in Bangladesh . ‘I was very nervous, nearly shaking on my first walk’ . However, her first attempts to find a modelling agency in Ireland were met with rejection as she is only 5ft 7, and they were all looking for over 5ft 8 1/2 . After she moved to Ireland, she rose to be among the professionals in the fashion industry, being a finalist in UK Top Model 2014, doing runway for Cradle Fashion Show, Fusion Fashion Show, Dublin Institute of Design, Dublin Fashion Festival, and many others. CHARITY WORK ‘My passion for charity work comes from my dad, who used to help people in need back home in Comilla’ Maksuda is actively involved in charity work in Ireland and Bangladesh, working with unprivileged children , who are deprived from social benefits, who can’t afford an education, food, home. In Ireland she works with Diabetes Ireland , Women’s Aid, Temple Street Hospital and more. With her work she is raising funds for the charities. PERSONAL LIFE Maksuda is a single mother of 2 beautiful children aged 4 and 5. She is trying her best to split the time between taking care of her family, studies and charity work ‘Sometimes is really hard, but the emotional reward compensate it’
