Jessica Annette

Jessica is 24 and has been modelling for two years. She started modelling in her hometown in Virginia but mainly modelled in Asheville NC. She became interested in modelling as a freshman in high school, and tried getting into several modelling agencies. However she grew frustrated as she was getting turned down a lot, due to her size, and they told Jessica she would not get anywhere in modelling. However, Jessica did not give up, and instead was determined and dedicated in becoming a model. She began losing weight and soon felt her dream start to become her reality.

Seven years later, her friend introduced her to the front of the camera and Jessica instantly fell in love with the job. She loved the challenges that came with modelling, and once she saw the first sets of images, she realised, it was just the beginning. She wanted to create stories and make her viewers empathise with her. She wanted her pictures to be intriguing. It is things like this that keeps Jessica motivated and wanting more, as she loves the challenge.

She also finds modelling to be therapeutic as she believes you learn so much about yourself when you do modelling. Jessica states that modelling is something you can never stop improving in and once you have the will power to do it, you will keep improving.

Modelling has brought Jessica lots of fond memories, experiences, opportunities that allow her to explore new places and the chance to meet new and creative people.

Her advice for aspiring models?; “Know your limitations and stick to them, love your imperfections because those are what makes your look remember-able, and never give up!”
