what to wear... OFFICE

Office attire:

What should you wear to the office? Or better yet, what should you wear to the office that is subtle but elegant also?

Lets start off with what NOT to wear, shall we? Remember, you want to be taken seriously in your workplace. So examples of what not to wear may include; skirts that are too short, tube tops, strapless dresses, tops that show excessive cleavage, T-shirts that have funny sentences or drawings, tops that show your stomach, shoes as flip-flops or wedges, and lastly jeans. I know jeans as an off limit may come as a shock to you all but they are just too casual for the workplace.

So, what to wear?

You can go for the complete outfit: suit jacket and trousers or dress with stilettos, pumps, moccasin or jelly shoes, in case your feet and back cannot stand high heels.

You can also play with a printed overall, as long as you only wear the printed fabric for the top and never the trousers.

Don’t forget you want to dress to impress! Whether it be your work colleagues, your friends, the guy you fancy, or yourself, wear a strict skirt, a blue lace top and stiletto shoes. (As seen in picture ).

Do you want a stricter outfit? The black dress will be your best friend. The dress that I purpose is quite long and does not reveal too much flesh. You can also wear a tie as a fun accessory. You can customise your black dress with some colourful accessories such as bags, shoes, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. You just have to make sure it suits the shape of the dress.

I personally prefer elegant colours like grey, dark blue and black as I feel they are really elegant and classy colours. I recognise however, that you might get bored of these colours if you are wearing them everyday. So how about trying a red dress with long sleeves? It's fun but still remains posh.

How about on the way to the office? Is it raining outside? Why not try a raincoat similar to the one in this picture? This posh shape will make you look thinner, as well as give you a subtly shifted style. Combine this look with a Panama hat as the one proposed by the Parisian designer, Julie Dubois.

Is it freezing outside? How about wearing a hat cloche or federa?

Is it sunny? Don’t forget your sunglasses and wear them with style!
