Cindy Rue

My name is Cindy Rue I am 34. I was born in Western Australia where I grew up and completed my hairdressing apprenticeship. My Dad being a hard working gold miner, we had an amazing childhood traveling Australia. I have two brothers and I'm in the middle. We're all only a year apart in age and we were fortunate enough to have Mum home full time with us growing up. My childhood played a big part in my creative side as we were able to be free, explore & experience a lot from such a young age. Once I finished my apprenticeship in Perth I was eager for more adventure so I secured a job on board a Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship as a hairstylist and left the country for a year working & traveling the world. Apon my return to Australia I spent a few months working in a salon in Central West NSW were my family was living at the time, to save for more travel but in the mean time I met my now Husband. 10 years together now, we have traveled around Australia whilst I've managed & owned salons satisfying my gypsy lifestyle. We have now landed in Canberra ACT and feel like we are home. We are really comfortable here and can see us planting our feet permanently in canberra soil. Now with over 17 years’ Hair & Makeup Industry experience. I have found a passion for fashion, photographic, editorial and runway session styling. I have been involved in many photo shoots and competitions which in one case led to a win, having my work displayed in over 150 salons around Australia and New Zealand, also my work has been published in Fashion magazines Australia Wide aswell as international publications. Most recently I was lucky enough to be chosen as a hairstylist for Canberra's Fashion Event 'Fashfest 14' & will be apart of this years Fashfest aswell. I also showcased my own 'Wild & Free ' Collection on the runway at Raw Revolution & I have just taken out the title for Raw Artists 'ACT Hairdresser of the Year 2015' which I'm so honored to achieve. Hair Extensions are my specialty & with over 15 years extension experience I have extensive skills and knowledge which has built my reputation extremely fast in Canberra aswell as around Australia. I have just enrolled in Certificate IV in Hairdressing & also Certificate IV in Business Management to further my skills. I am so passionate at what I do and I believe there is always something new to learn our ever evolving industry.
